  1. Listening to this episode… I was pretty horrified to hear what some cosplayers and women, generally, go through at US cons. I’m in the UK and have only been to three conventions and only one of them was pretty huge, but all had cosplayers and I never saw anything untoward happen, but…

Basically, I haven’t experienced what the three of you’ve described – but I will keep an eye out for follow con goers in the future.

  2. Great podcast. It is sad to see things like this happen. As someone said one thing needs to be done concerning press passes is divine who are the press. Just because someone has a blog that is titled “I read comics” doesn’t make them the press.

I also think that at some of these cons they don’t have enough “staff’ out on the floor especially on these bigger cons. I have walked a con and not seen anyone that can be considered “staff” for hours.

But when they do have people on the floor they need to be sure they know how to handle situations like these. Just having some young volunteer on the floor isn’t enough.
